Apple Observational Drawings and September Self Portraits

This morning, we worked on apple observational drawings. We talked about the parts of the apple, and we cut an apple in half to observe the apple. We discussed a stem, core, seeds and the outside skin.

For our self-portraits, we started by doing mat-man on the carpet. Then with a sharpie we drew ourselves. We then went over our drawings with watercolor paints. We added language by answers four different questions.

Standards:

SC1.1: Demonstrate ability to explore objects in the physical world

SC5.1: Demonstrate scientific curiosity

APL1.2: Demonstrate interest and curiosity as a learner

APL3.1: Demonstrate development of sustained attention and persistence

CA3.1: Demonstrate creative expression through the visual art process
