Exploring the Solar Eclipse

Today, all of our friends were so very excited to talk about the solar eclipse! Children talked about being outside watching it with their families, using special glasses, and how they saw the moon!

Today, the children thought about the question: "What is a solar eclipse?"

Here were their answers:

WC: "the moon gets in front of the sun and makes a huge shadow."

TP: "When the sun changes."

BM: "When the moon is covering up the sun."

RM: "You look at the moon with the glasses."

LV: "When it just starts getting big."

EK: "Its like the moon has two moons."

LO: "When you look at the sun and you wear glasses."

EB: "When we look at the glasses and we can look at the ring around the moon from the sun."

BS: "When the moon rises and the werewolves come out."

TM: "Glasses."

After having a discussion about what a solar eclipse is, the children created "memory drawings" about what they remember the solar eclipse looked like. Ms. Alisa also showed pictures and videos from  her phone.
